Friday Favorites // Week 3: March 2015

This week has been an interesting mix of ups and downs. The weather has been up and down, my mood has been up and down, house buying prospects have been up and down, the stock market has been up and down… but what doesn’t go up and down? That’s life. Part of what has been keeping me entertained and optimistic this week is related to some of the links posted below:

Eleven reasons your Crazy Cat Obsession makes you happier and healthier. I knew it all along!

This app is pretty remarkable. I want to give it a try.

-Vetiver is one of my favorite bands of all time, and I had no idea they were planning on coming out with a new album next week! Here is a first look free stream of ‘Complete Strangers. Andy Cabic’s voice is always so soothing.

Don’t ever visit Oregon. EVER. I really don’t like living here… (not!) But really, I think we seriously need to consider border control.

-Ok, that’s it. My new treadmill routine is inspired to come up to this level. WATCH OUT.

14 essential baked goods every baker should master. I really need to up my bread making game!

-Also I love this advice about saving costs when remodeling. I heart you, Remodelista!

-I think my heart just skipped a beat. A couple of beats, actually. Peanut Butter Samoa Cookies dipped in CHOCOLATE?!? Tieghan is amazing.

Really need/want to work on this. Been reading a ton of blog-advice articles lately which have been super helpful.

-I’ve always been obsessed with Jimmy Fallon’s lip sync battles and now it’s becoming a show! So happy!

-Also, Neil DeGrasse Tyson is starting is own TV show! Best week of television news ever. Even though I don’t own a television…

-And I’ll leave you with this. I took some non-food photos for once for the Portland Mercury last Friday about 70mm film coming to one of the local theaters (that I just so happen to live right down the street from). Their first feature is 2001: A Space Odyssey and we’re going to go see it tonight! It was so awesome to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of my favorite places in Portland.

Just finished up a run on the Willamette waterfront this morning. Everyone always flips out about these cherry blossom trees blooming–and for good reason.

My favorite little cafe in North Portland. Love the breakfast plate.

Good mail day. Thanks for the awesome Dirty Apron Cookbook Figure 1 Publishing!
